Department of Industry - Orange

Earlier this year, the NSW Minister for Primary Industry, Mr Niall Blair announced that Verde Property (AUST) Pty Ltd (“Verde”) was the successful proponent for the Development of the New $70 million Office Complex for the Department of Industry.

This development, on the site of the former Orange hospital, will act as an urban renewal project in a portion of the city that was badly affected by the relocation of the Hospital out of the city centre. The Former hospital has sat derelict for years.

This commitment by the Department of Industry to new offices ensures the department will continue to be located in Orange for many years to come. Additionally, the construction and fit-out of these offices will create many jobs in the construction industry and associated trades required to deliver and maintain the building long term. Verde and its development team will where reasonably possible source the trades locally in Orange.

Verde will work closely with the Orange City Council, Property NSW and the community of Orange to minimise and disruption this region of the City yet strive to achieve an outstanding new commercial building that fits comfortably within the style and height limits of Orange City.

As part of the development the Former Ambulance station will be restored and repurposed to a Restaurant/ Café and Bar which will service the occupants of the department, the TAFE college opposite and the surrounding neighbourhood.
